Job summary

Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Machinery Operator for our Aiken, SC project, with travel to Charlotte, NC and Nashville, TN as needed.

You will operate excavators, dozers, loaders, GPS dozers, and other heavy equipment, perform maintenance, and ensure safety and productivity on site. A valid driver’s license and physical ability to lift 50 lbs are required. Reliable travel a must.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of heavy machinery operation on a construction or paving site (3+ years preferred).
• Experience with one or more: Excavators, GPS Dozers, Loaders, Skid steer, roller, screed, etc.
• Preferred: Highway or heavy construction experience.
• Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (airports, military bases).
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
• Must be at least 18 years old for job-site safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, loaders, GPS dozers, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and performance improvements.
• Load and unload materials and equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.
