Job summary

APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, seeks a Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy equipment in open pit mine operations while working as part of a team. This role requires at least three years of equipment experience and willingness to travel up to 75% of duties.

Applicants must demonstrate safety compliance per OSHA/MSHA and perform routine maintenance, inspections, and training of less-experienced staff. Overtime and varying shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience with Haul Truck, Bulldozer, Excavator and Loader preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 75% of duties.
• Able to work nights and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in pit/mining operations.
• Report problems to manager and maintain safe work environment.
• Use hand signals and eye contact when backing with co-workers.
• Follow OSHA/MSHA regulations and company policies.
• Follow Foreman’s directions for daily tasks and projects.
• Perform minor maintenance and daily pre/post inspections.
• Assist in training less-experienced employees.
• Perform general labor duties and other assigned tasks.
