Job summary

APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate equipment in an open pit mine environment. You will work with a team and follow OSHA/MSHA safety rules while performing daily inspections and reporting issues.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of equipment operation experience, preferably two to five years on loaders, and is willing to travel or work nights/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience operating heavy equipment such as Haul Truck, Bulldozer, Excavator, or Loader.
• Two to five years' loader operations experience preferred.
• Construction field experience or training accepted.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in pit and mining operations.
• Report any problems to your manager.
• Operate in a safe work environment for yourself and co-workers.
• Maintain awareness when working with others, using eye contact and clear hand signals while backing.
• Follow OSHA/MSHA safety procedures and company policies.
• Follow Foreman directions for daily tasks and project expectations.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance; refer major problems to Foreman.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-inspections with proper documentation.
• Assist in training less-experienced employees on equipment operation and servicing.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
