Job summary

The Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality medical support and clinical care with a focus on client satisfaction.

This role requires current MA credentials or equivalent experience, willingness to travel up to 50% to Dover, Newark, and Wilmington, and a valid driver's license. EPIC experience is preferred and Covid-19 vaccination is required per policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• MA graduate or AMA Certified Medical Assistant, or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service, Human Service or Science preferred, or equivalent experience required.
• Phlebotomy Certification Preferred.
• Bilingual Preferred.
• Minimum one year experience preferred.
• Familiarity with women’s reproductive healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients through the visit process.
• Complete patient intake assessment interview, provide client-focused education/information, distribute and review of fact sheets, and informed consent process with accurate medical record documentation.
• Assist clinician and client with examination process, follow-up care and referrals.
• Perform duties of Procedure Room Assistant, conduct laboratory testing, scrub and sterilize instruments.
• Assist in the abortion services as needed.
• Maintain and provide for the upkeep and care of exam room, clinical work areas equipment, supplies and log entries.
• Perform all front office duties: Receive incoming calls, direct to appropriate staff or message system.
• Use practice management system, enter client information, service data and charges.
• Perform charge out duties as appropriate.
• Accurately record all lab tests and test results in appropriate lab logs and medical record as appropriate.
• Provide injections as necessary.
• Conduct all lab tests for patients including, but not limited to: Pregnancy, STI, and HIV.
