Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Health Center in San Diego, CA. The MA will support reproductive health care under clinical supervision, assist with testing, screening, education, and back-office tasks to ensure efficient care delivery.

Strong customer service, empathy, and knowledge of EMR and lab work are valued, with compensation in the $23.00–$23.75/hour range and differential rates for flex roles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or CNA program.
• 2 years clinical back office medical assistant or related experience; Women's Healthcare preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree optional.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians to ensure high quality, efficient care delivery.
• Prepare exam rooms and screen clients for intake and education.
• Handle front-office duties: greet clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with billing activities.
• Perform basic lab work and sample preparation for outside labs.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, infection control, and regulatory mandates.
