Job summary

The Foreman, Fuel Construction will lead a traveling crew responsible for underground fuel system installations across New Mexico and neighboring states, reporting to the Director of Fuel Construction. You will supervise field crews, perform hands-on work, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with fuel supply personnel and contractors.

This role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years of construction experience, an active underground storage tank installer license (NM/TX/OK/AZ), and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five or more years of construction or related field experience.
  • Active underground storage tank installer license in NM, TX, OK, or AZ required before offer.
  • New Mexico underground storage tank installer license strongly preferred.
  • Experience completing full fuel installations and leading construction crews.
  • Experience operating excavators, loaders, skid steers; advanced excavator operation preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively; up to 100% travel.
  • OSHA 30 Hour, Confined space, Excavation safety training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily work assignments according to project priorities, construction plans, and deadlines.
  • Lead and provide immediate field supervision to construction crew members and contractors.
  • Delegate responsibilities and project assignments across the crew.
  • Manage a crew typically consisting of three laborers and one equipment operator.
  • Complete full fuel system installations, including underground storage tanks, fuel piping, dispensers, Verifone equipment, and equipment programming.
  • Oversee safe excavation, preparation, grading, installation, and completion of underground fuel tank sites.
  • Operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment as needed.
  • Perform precise excavation work for fuel installation projects.
  • Assist crew members with heavy labor and field tasks as required.
  • Monitor project quality, regulatory compliance, safety, and progress.
