Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) seeks a Safety Coordinator to promote, monitor, and enforce site-level safety across KE job sites nationwide. You will ensure OSHA compliance and KE safety policies, helping to build a proactive safety culture that reduces risk and protects teams.

You’ll advise project teams, conduct trainings, audits, and incident investigations, and support risk assessments while traveling extensively to diverse job sites.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR/AED and Fall Protection Competent Person certifications, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• OSHA 30 certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Willingness to obtain BCSP STS certification within six months of hire.
• Experience in electrical or solar construction (preferred).
• Knowledge of OSHA, federal, and state safety regulations.
• Valid driver's license with safe driving history.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience in basic project or field administration.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel 100% and work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Associate degree in Safety Management or Construction Management is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Advise and mentor project teams on KE safety policies and procedures.
• Provide safety education and training to field personnel as needed.
• Oversee and audit project-level safety documentation to KE standards.
• Conduct site safety audits and incident investigations.
• Monitor and enforce employee adherence to safety rules and regulations.
• Prepare mandated safety statistics and compliance reports.
• Support risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Assist field personnel with EHS/OHS challenges.
• Attend daily Tailgate meetings to discuss hazards and best practices.
• Support pre-construction planning from a safety perspective.
• Promote a strong job site safety culture both independently and with the team.
• Travel extensively, including overnight and multi-week out-of-state assignments.
