Job summary

Knobelsdorff is looking for an on-site safety coordinator to support the Energy division across Northern Illinois. The role emphasizes field safety training, site inspections, documentation, and assisting project teams in meeting KE’s safety standards.

You will travel 100% to active job sites, promote proactive risk identification, and coordinate with the Safety Manager on standards and reporting. OSHA 30 is required; NFPA familiarity and strong communication are a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma; associate degree in safety or construction is a plus.
• OSHA 30 is required; higher certifications are a plus.
• At least 1 year of field safety experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70/70E and photovoltaic construction is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety guidance, training, and mentorship to job-site teams.
• Audit safety documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Conduct field audits and participate in tailgate talks.
• Support pre-construction meetings and safety planning.
• Prepare safety statistics and compliance reports.
• Travel to active job sites as needed.
