Job summary

JGM is seeking a Field Engineer / Project Engineer who will travel nationwide, with initial training in Birmingham, AL, and Downingtown, PA. The role combines hands-on site work with leadership development, covering structural steel, mechanical installation, and pipefitters tasks.

You will support site operations, manage RFIs and submittals, monitor schedules, and ensure safety and quality while engaging with multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent field experience or related education)
• Comfortable with heavy travel and extended hours during active project phases
• Currently working as a Project Engineer, Construction Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent looking for a clearer path up? This is that role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation
• OSHA 30 certification preferred (OSHA 10 considered with willingness to obtain OSHA 30)
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced construction environments and adapt to changing field conditions
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work extended hours as project demands requires

Responsibilities

• Support daily site operations alongside Superintendents and Project Managers, from mobilization through project completion
• Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
• Monitor progress against the schedule and flag issues before they become delays
• Walk the site regularly to verify work matches plans and quality standards
• Help keep the job running safely, on schedule, and on budget
