Job summary

McClatchy Media Company in Salem, VA is seeking a part-time Merchandiser to service multiple stores with travel between accounts. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and adherence to schedules.

You will visit assigned stores on designated weekdays, replenish products, and follow planograms while recording hours in company apps. Travel may be up to 100% of the time, and a background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• General merchandising experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to multitask and detail-oriented.
• Conduct self in a professional manner.
• Adherence to the company’s attendance policy.
• Reliable transportation for travel.
• Able to use Movista and/or other company-required applications.
• Have personal cell phone and mobile device, such as a tablet.
• Proficient with Word, the internet, and email applications.

Responsibilities

• 100% Merchandising in a retail environment, applying store and corporate standards and replenishing products.
• Assemble shelves/racks and display cases following measurement guidelines.
• Service all stores as scheduled within hours provided by Supervisor, Merchandising; seek prior approval for overtime.
• Record work hours and related information using designated applications.
• Discuss duties requested by store personnel with Supervisor before performing them.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Work stores as scheduled and handle all products correctly, including returns.
• Follow planograms (POGs) and flowcharts; maintain communication with Supervisor.
• Develop relationships with store personnel.
