Job summary

AGC Heat Transfer is seeking a Field Maintenance Specialist based in Albany, NY to support customers nationwide. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical work, travel, and direct customer interaction as you serve as the on-site expert for complex heat exchanger service.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs, and training while coordinating with Sales Engineers. Travel is substantial, and the position is full-time, non-exempt, with a vehicle and equipment provided.

Qualifications

• Prior traveling technician experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and tool experience.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform Plate Check inspections on plate and tubular heat exchangers.
• Execute repairs, troubleshooting, and installation supervision.
• Conduct on-site customer training.
• Travel >15 days/month (including some weekends).
• Maintain detailed plant folders, documentation, and follow-up communication.
• Collaborate with AGC Sales Engineers on upcoming service needs.
• Submit accurate service reports within 48 hours.
• Mentor new technicians as needed.
