Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Chesterfield, MO is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer or Technician who is travel-ready to gain hands-on experience in commissioning and start-up activities across Data Center, Semiconductor, Life Science, and other industrial facilities.

New graduates or professionals with 0-2 years of field experience will work on installation verification, wiring QA/QC, point-to-point testing, and system-level testing under mentorship, with full benefits and paid travel.

Qualifications

• Understanding of or exposure to field instrumentation, hardware panels and low voltage controls design.
• Understanding of control systems, components, PLC programming, SCADA programming and their applications.

Responsibilities

• Installation & Wiring QA/QC Verification (Level 2 Commissioning). Verify installation and wiring per drawings and standards.
• Point-to-Point Testing (Level 3 Commissioning). Confirm field devices are installed, wired, addressed, and configured.
• Functional Performance Testing (FPT) (Level 4 Commissioning). Test control system functions and alarm/trend setups.
• System-Level Testing Support (Level 5 Commissioning). Validate integrated operation across related systems.
