Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Kansas City is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer or Technician to gain hands-on experience in commissioning, testing, and start-up activities across data center, semiconductor, and other industrial facilities.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering or an equivalent AA substitute, with exposure to field instrumentation, PLC/SCADA, and low voltage controls. This role requires up to 100% travel and offers comprehensive benefits and mentorship.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Computer, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred; AA in Engineering Technology may be substituted.
• Understanding of field instrumentation, hardware panels, and low voltage controls design.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and SCADA applications and their use in industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Support installation verification and wiring QA/QC for control panels and field devices.
• Perform point-to-point testing and functional performance testing of control systems.
• Assist commissioning and start-up activities across multiple projects and industries.
• Coordinate with clients and electrical subcontractors to ensure proper system integration.
