Job summary

Deeply Digital is hiring a Traveling Fiber Splicer to join our team in Colorado, New Mexico, and surrounding states. The role focuses on joining optical fibers for telecom networks, with a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation and a on-the-road work location.

You will splice, terminate, troubleshoot, and document splice locations, while maintaining safety and high quality throughout projects. Requirements include proven fiber optic splicing experience; FOA certification or equivalent is a plus;

Qualifications

• Experience in fiber optic splicing.
• FOA certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
• Proficient in using splicing equipment, fusion splicing and OTDR testing.

Responsibilities

• Fiber Optic Splicing: splice and terminate fiber optic cables.
• Troubleshooting: identify and fix fiber optic issues to minimize outages.
• Quality Assurance: perform quality checks to meet standards and company expectations.
• Documentation: maintain records of splice locations and cable routes.
• Safety: follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Equipment Maintenance: service splicing equipment to keep it in good condition.
• Collaboration: work with network engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

• Fiber Optic Splicing: Efficiently splice and terminate fiber optic cables to ensure optimal performance and minimal signal loss.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot fiber optic issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize service disruptions.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks to guarantee that splicing work meets industry standards and our company's high-quality expectations.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of splice locations, cable routes, and other relevant data for future reference.
• Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on splicing equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in fiber optic splicing, with a minimum of [X years] of hands-on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Per diem 60.00 a day

Expected hours: 70-84hr a week
