Job summary

Owen Electric Company is seeking a Traveling Electrical QA/QC professional to support our National Projects Group on large-scale industrial, mission-critical, and data center projects throughout the Southeast US. This role focuses on field-level quality, inspecting installations, verifying NEC compliance, and coordinating with field leadership and clients.

The ideal candidate has hands-on electrical construction experience and QA/QC on complex projects, and is able to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical construction background required; this is not a general construction QA/QC position.
• Experience on large-scale data center, mission-critical, industrial, or other complex electrical projects strongly preferred.
• Prior experience as an Electrical QA/QC professional, Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership position.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, installation standards, and the NEC.
• Experience with quality documentation, inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover processes.
• Comfortable working with construction technology such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM/VDC platforms, and electronic QA/QC documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both field personnel and project leadership.
• OSHA 30 and electrical licenses/certifications are preferred.
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively to projects throughout the Southeast.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical quality inspections throughout all phases of construction.
• Verify installations comply with project drawings, specifications, NEC requirements, manufacturer requirements, and applicable quality standards.
• Identify, document, and track deficiencies through correction and closeout.
• Review electrical installations including raceway, cable tray, equipment, terminations, grounding/bonding, and other critical systems.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, checklists, and turnover records.
• Assist with pre-functional inspections, testing, commissioning, and project turnover activities.
• Coordinate closely with field leadership, Project Management, Safety, BIM/VDC, and commissioning teams.
• Help prevent rework by identifying quality concerns early and communicating expectations to field personnel.
• Participate in punch-list development, resolution, and final project closeout.

Owen Electric Company is seeking an experienced Traveling Electrical QA/QC professional to support our National Projects Group on large-scale industrial, mission-critical, and data center projects throughout the Southeast US.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who understands quality from the field level - someone who knows how electrical systems should be installed, can identify issues before they become costly problems, and can work effectively with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Management, and clients to ensure our work meets project specifications and Owen Electric standards.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who has built electrical work, not just inspected it. The strongest candidates will have a combination of hands-on electrical construction experience, field leadership, and QA/QC experience on large, technically demanding projects.

Candidates with experience working for large electrical contractors on major data center, mission-critical, or industrial projects will receive strong consideration.
