Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer to join a major Data Center project in Dallas, TX on a 6-month contract. You will oversee electrical QA/QC activities on site, working closely with electrical contractors, construction, commissioning teams and project management to ensure installations meet project specs and quality standards.

The role requires a strong background in Data Center or Mission Critical projects, with experience in inspections, ITPs, NCRs and quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Electrical QA/QC Engineer or similar.
• Strong electrical construction background with on-site QA/QC.
• Data Center or Mission Critical project experience preferred.
• Experience with ITPs, NCRs and quality documentation.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Data Center environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day electrical QA/QC activities on site.

• Identify, document and track NCRs to resolution.
• Review subcontractor QA/QC documentation for compliance.
• Maintain inspection and quality records.
• Support commissioning and testing readiness.
• Attend quality meetings and provide updates on issues.

Job description

I’m currently working with a major Data Center project in Dallas, Texas, and looking for an experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer to join the project team on a 6-month contract.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing electrical quality activities on site, working closely with the electrical contractors, construction team, commissioning team and project management to ensure installations are completed in line with project specifications, drawings and quality standards.

This would suit an experienced Electrical QA/QC professional with a strong background in Data Center, Mission Critical or other complex commercial/industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day electrical QA/QC activities on site.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks of electrical installations.
• Review installations against approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Develop and manage ITPs, inspection checklists and quality documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with electrical subcontractors, vendors and project teams.
• Conduct site inspections, walkdowns and quality audits.
• Monitor installation of MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, busway, distribution systems and cabling.
• Identify, document and track NCRs and quality issues through to resolution.
• Review subcontractor QA/QC documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
• Work closely with the commissioning team to ensure systems are ready for testing.
• Support punch list, snagging and closeout activities.
• Attend quality meetings and provide updates on outstanding issues.
• Ensure all electrical works are completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical QA/QC Engineer, Electrical Quality Engineer or similar.
• Strong electrical construction background.
• Previous Data Center or Mission Critical experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with electrical inspections, ITPs, NCRs and quality documentation.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with electrical contractors and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of MV/LV systems and critical power infrastructure.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Data Center environment.
• Relevant electrical qualifications or technical background.
