Job summary

West Area Float Educational Aide in Erie, PA supports the Lead Teacher in delivering the CDC’s Creative Curriculum. The role requires collaboration with staff to provide engaging, safe learning experiences and to assist with daily classroom operations.

Travel between centers within the county is required to support center operations. The position includes competitive benefits and the opportunity to contribute to early childhood education across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Superior decision-making, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proper attendance is required. Arrive on time, every day.
• Travel to other centers within the county is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of the CDC curriculum (Creative Curriculum) in the classroom.
• Consult tools and training to execute CDC initiatives, play plans and intentional play.
• Maintain high-quality verbal engagement with children throughout the day.
• Partner with staff to ensure consistent interactions with children.
• Manage day-to-day classroom activities including meals, bathroom breaks and transitions.
• Apply brain-based techniques to support self-regulation and classroom behaviors.
• Participate in literacy initiatives to support emergent writing and reading.
• Attend post-observational conferences to discuss growth and alignment with practices.
• Supervise children in the classroom under Lead Teacher direction and report concerns to Center Director.
• Ensure classroom and equipment are clean, maintained and safe.
• Adhere to CDC policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
