Job summary

Top Tempo Technical seeks a Traveling Diesel/EV Mechanic to support high voltage electrical work on transit buses. You will diagnose, install, and repair electrical systems and related components, working with advanced EV and hydrogen tech in field settings.

A strong background in electrical troubleshooting and customer service is essential. The role requires up to 75% travel (2–3 weeks at a time), 2+ years in electrical/HVAC or related fields, and knowledge of 12V/24V and 600V systems.

Qualifications

2+ years in electrical, HVAC or related field.
Experience with high voltage electrical systems in transit or related vehicles.
Ability to travel up to 75% (2–3 weeks at a time).
Knowledge of 12V/24V and 600V systems and related electronics.
Comfort reading blueprints, schematics and process instructions.
Solid customer service and problem-solving skills.
PLC and ladder logic experience is a plus; hydrogen training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and high voltage issues in transit vehicles.
Install and repair electrical systems and components.
Maintain and repair electronic equipment and related hardware.
Inspect components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
Identify problems using testing devices (ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, cable testers).
Work with advanced electric/hydrogen tech on buses and related equipment.
