Job summary
Top Tempo Technical is seeking a Field Service Technician – Electric Bus / High Voltage Electrical to support an international transit manufacturer and parts distributor in the Detroit area. You will provide electrical field expertise on high-voltage electric transit buses, troubleshoot complex electrical systems, and service related components.
Responsibilities include installing electrical systems, maintaining and repairing equipment, reading blueprints and schematics, and traveling
Qualifications
- E-bus experience is required.
- 2+ years in electrical, HVAC, or related technical field.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including wiring, circuit testing, diagnostics, and repair.
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of multiplex systems.
- Ability to work from blueprints, process sheets, schematics, and technical instructions as required.
- Solid customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- PLC and ladder logic experience preferred.
- High-voltage experience and hydrogen training or certification preferred.
- General knowledge of transit bus, hybrid, and/or electric drive systems is ideal but not required.
- Extensive travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot high-voltage EV and related systems.
- Install electrical systems on transit vehicles.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment.
- Repair or replace wiring, relays, motors, lighting.
- Identify problems using meters and testers.
- Inspect transformers and circuit breakers.
