Compensation: $21.00-$29.00 / Hourly

Role Description

The primary role of the Dental Assistant is to support the clinicians through effective delivery of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE), creating a Patient for Life (PFL). Responsibilities include patient care, office, and laboratory duties, preparing patients for exams, assisting dental professionals, and working effectively with team members.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform functions according to state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
  2. Participate actively in PPE, focusing on patient needs and concerns.
  3. Escort patients and introduce them to team members as appropriate.
  4. Ensure smooth scheduling and communication with the team.
  5. Maintain a clean, sterile environment and sterilize instruments.
  6. Prepare patients and assist the dentist during procedures.
  7. Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures efficiently.
  8. Prepare tray setups and maintain supplies.
  9. Use suction devices to keep the mouth dry and clear.
  10. Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care.
  11. Record patient data and support clinical documentation.
  12. Support patient care by presenting records and consents.
  13. Maintain equipment and supplies.
  14. Operate and explain technology to patients and staff.
  15. Participate in meetings and uphold company values.
  16. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; additional mandated training for certification/licensure.
  • Valid licenses or registrations as required by state.
  • For Specialty Dental Assistants: valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies, manuals, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with computer software.
  • Results-oriented, customer service-focused, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and multitask effectively.
