Role Overview

The primary role of the Dental Assistant is to support the success of the clinicians through effective delivery of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE), creating a Patient for Life (PFL). Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including preparing patients for oral examination, assisting in treatment, and working effectively with team members and patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform functions in accordance with state regulations.
  • Participate actively in PPE, focusing on patient-centered care.
  • Escort patients and introduce them to team members.
  • Communicate with the team to ensure smooth scheduling.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare patients and assist the dentist during procedures.
  • Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures as directed.
  • Prepare tray setups and maintain supplies.
  • Support patient care with proper instructions and charting.
  • Support equipment maintenance and supplies management.
  • Utilize technology and participate in team meetings.
  • Model company values and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; additional training as mandated by state.
  • Applicable certificates/licenses/registrations.
  • For Specialty Dental Assistants: valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; in some cases, alternative transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency with basic computer software.
  • Results-oriented, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential patient records.

Compensation

$21.75-$30.25 per hour.
