Salary: $21.00 - $29.25 / Hour

Role Overview

The primary role of the Dental Assistant is to support the success of the clinicians through effective delivery of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE), thus creating a Patient for Life (PFL). Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. They prepare patients for oral examinations and assist dental professionals in providing treatment to the teeth, mouth, and gums. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Perform functions in accordance with state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
  • Participate actively in PPE, focusing on patient needs and concerns.
  • Escort patients and introduce them to team members.
  • Ensure smooth scheduling and communication with the team.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments per infection control guidelines.
  • Prepare patients and assist the dentist during procedures.
  • Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures efficiently.
  • Prepare tray setups and replenish supplies.
  • Support patient care and record-keeping accurately.
  • Support clinical and administrative team functions.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and supply management.
  • Participate in team meetings and uphold company values.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and company policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; relevant training courses as required by state.
  • Valid licenses or certifications as mandated by state.
  • For Specialty Dental Assistants: valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between offices.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school preferred.
  • Strong communication, judgment, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential patient records.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
