Role Overview
The primary role of the Dental Assistant is to support the success of the clinicians through effective delivery of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE), creating a Patient for Life (PFL). Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including preparing patients for examinations and assisting in treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functions in accordance with applicable state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
- Participate actively in PPE, focusing on patient-centered care.
- Escort patients and introduce them to team members as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with front and back office teams to ensure smooth scheduling.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment, sterilize instruments, and disinfect equipment.
- Prepare patients and assist the dentist during procedures, including radiographs and intra-oral pictures.
- Prepare tray setups and maintain supplies in each operatory.
- Support patient care by instructing on postoperative and oral health care.
- Record patient information accurately in the digital chart.
- Support clinical and administrative functions as needed.
- Ensure equipment and supplies are maintained and available.
- Participate in team meetings and uphold company values and standards.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; additional training or certification as mandated by state.
- Valid licenses/registrations as required.
- For specialty roles, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience.

- Proficiency with basic computer software.
