Job summary

Van Meter Inc. is seeking a Traveling Delivery Driver to safely deliver products to customers and represent the company with professionalism. You will build positive customer relationships, ensure accurate and timely deliveries, and support operational excellence through safe driving and vehicle upkeep.

Relocation away from your primary residence for approximately 6–18 months is required, with up to 100% over-the-road travel and rotating shift demands driven by customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class A driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain a Class A CDL as necessary for business needs.
• Ability to meet and DOT qualifications.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to operate lift truck equipment.
• Six months or more of delivery experience.
• Experience with Eclipse software.
• Experience using handheld RF scanners.

• Ability to hear traffic, equipment warnings, and other safety-related sounds?
• Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English sufficiently to converse with the?general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records?

Working Conditions

• Work performed indoors, outdoors, and in customer environments?
• Frequent exposure to varying weather and temperature conditions?
• Moderate noise levels from vehicles, equipment, and warehouse operations?
• Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and mechanical hazards?
• Regular customer interaction and independent work?
• May require non-standard shifts, extended hours, and temporary third-shift coverage?
• Required use of applicable PPE and adherence to DOT and safety requirements?
• Travel Requirements: Up to 100% over-the-road and expected to relocate at a minimum of every 6 - 18 months
• Shift Demands: Extended hours and/or over-the-road assignments. Rotating schedule dependent on customer demand. Expected 45-60-hour work weeks.
