Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead field operations, enforce safety and quality controls, and drive projects to on-time completion. The role requires coordinating crews, subcontractors, and materials while maintaining strict adherence to schedule and budget.

You will report to the project manager, maintain detailed project diaries, and travel as needed across the country. A strong leadership ethic, bilingual abilities (English/Spanish preferred), and proficiency

Qualifications

• 5-25 years of construction experience.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling programs.
• Valid driver's license in your state of residence.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job (standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to travel across the country.

Responsibilities

• Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction.
• Prepare a schedule of construction activities and staffing requirements.
• Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and schedule.
• Assist project manager/engineer with materials shipment and approvals of shop drawings.
• Coordinate subcontractors and integrate with project schedules and progress.
• Inform supervisors and subcontractors of schedule changes promptly.
• Prepare job progress and cost reports reflecting actual costs.
• Review and approve requisitions, PO's, invoices, and other reports.
• Cooperate with owner, architects, and owner reps; maintain progress updates.
• Hold site meetings with project manager and regional manager.
• Report regularly on progress, plans, and problems affecting costs/schedules.
• Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts and approvals.
• Direct adherence to safety program across all phases.
