Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking an experienced traveling Superintendent to lead large-scale industrial and aerospace projects. The role is based out of Nashville, TN, with travel to sites across GA, AL, NC, SC, and FL as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• Industrial or Industrial/Aerospace experience preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Good verbal and written communication with top management, owners and outside entities.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• People management skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Advocates safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforces safety plans and policies.
• Supervises, coordinates, and directs management of construction projects with owners, designers, and subcontractors.
• Develops and implements detailed schedules and production plans with budget and safety goals.
• Prepares project status reports and manages daily, progress, and compliance reports.
• Reviews plans and coordinating shop drawings; procures tools and materials.
• Determines staffing levels and timing, considering methods and equipment availability.
• Recruits, hires and directs onsite field personnel; handles payroll documentation with HR.
• Resolves workforce issues with supervisory staff and HR; improves construction methods with team.
• Ensures schedules are adhered to and coordinates subcontractors; enforces company policies.
• Coordinates regulatory inspections and ensures compliance.
