Job summary

Hodge Western Corp is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead, strengthen, and continuously improve safety practices across our construction operations. This role requires balancing compliance with real-world jobsite conditions and earning respect in the field as a trusted advisor to project managers, superintendents, and crews.

The position is a traveling role covering projects in the western United States, especially Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, with an emphasis on on-site safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years of safety experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits.
• Ability to influence and communicate with field and office teams.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the company’s safety program across multiple construction projects.
• Conduct regular jobsite safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Develop and deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and records.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to field leadership on hazard mitigation and best practices.
• Identify trends and opportunities to improve safety performance.
• Support preconstruction planning with job hazard analyses and safety planning.
