Job summary

JSET Automated Technologies is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Project Manager to lead data center and mission-critical projects across the Midwest and Southern United States. This field-based leadership role directs field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and ensures project execution from startup through turnover.

Candidates should be adept at managing schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, while maintaining safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on active

Responsibilities

  • Lead controls and data center construction projects from startup through turnover.
  • Direct and manage field technicians, foremen, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Establish daily and weekly priorities for field teams.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and overall project performance.
  • Coordinate manpower planning, material procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, and project documentation.
  • Track project risks, resolve field issues, and drive timely decision-making.
  • Conduct regular jobsite walks and actively manage project execution in the field.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
  • Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilize Procore and other project management tools to maintain project visibility and documentation.

Position Overview

JSET is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Project Manager to support data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects across the Midwest and Southern United States.

This is a field-based leadership role responsible for managing projects from startup through turnover while actively directing field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and overall project execution on active construction sites.

Project Managers on our national team are embedded in the field and are expected to lead project execution, manage field staff, solve problems, drive schedules, and maintain strong relationships with customers and trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidates should be comfortable deploying to project sites for extended durations and traveling wherever project needs require.

What You'll Do

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience in electrical, controls, industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or similar construction environments
  • Experience managing direct field labor, subcontractors, and active construction projects
  • Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasting, procurement, and customer relationships
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and cost tracking
  • Experience utilizing Procore or similar construction management software
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively based on project needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), or Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
  • Experience managing data center, mission-critical, industrial, or electrical construction projects
  • Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software
  • Knowledge of controls systems, low-voltage systems, or industrial automation
