As a Geohazard Mitigation Technician working for GSI, your days will be diverse and the environment constantly changing. You will work outdoors in various climates, collaborating with experienced technicians to measure, drill, mix concrete, and build sustainable infrastructure. Responsibilities

1. Mix, spray, operate hoses, and run shotcrete or grouting pumps
2. Move materials on construction sites
3. Read and interpret measurements
4. Maintain a clean and organized work site
5. Collaborate effectively within a team
6. Learn to operate rock drills
7. Operate construction equipment such as excavators, all-terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front-end loaders

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation
• OR prior construction experience as a carpenter or framer
• OR concrete experience, such as finisher, form builder, or shotcrete specialist
• OR extensive outdoor work experience in a physical, collaborative environment

• Must not fear heights
• Ability to travel at least 3 weeks per month
• Reliability and strong work ethic
• Enthusiastic team player

Additional Qualifications

• CDL Class A license or a clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record

Work Environment

• Climate conditions vary from tropical to desert environments
• Moderate noise levels, hearing protection often required
• Exposure to typical construction site hazards
• Heavy lifting of 50 lbs+ regularly required

Compensation

Pay ranges from $20 to $23 per hour. In 2023, overtime work brought the total compensation to over $27 per hour.

Travel

100% travel within the Eastern US (east of the Mississippi River). Employees typically work a 3 weeks on, 1 week off schedule.
