Job summary

B&B Concrete in Midland, TX is seeking a Commercial Concrete Finisher to perform carpentry tasks to prep, pour, place and finish concrete. You will build forms for slabs, walls, tilt-wall structures and other cast-in-place elements per drawings.

Candidates should read drawings, set forms to elevations, help place reinforcing steel, ensure safety, communicate with foreman, and assist with placing concrete as needed. This is a hands-on role with attention to detail and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand drawings and prints.
• Build and assemble wood or metal forms for concrete structures.
• Set forms to elevations and locations; may aid in reinforcing steel.
• Verify accuracy of structures using plumb bob, carpenter level, laser and/or digital transit.
• Maintain safety policies and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• May signal concrete delivery to position truck for pouring.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand drawings and prints.
• Build and assemble forms for floors, slabs, walls, columns, tilt-walls, and other structures.
• Set forms to proper elevations and locations; may aid in reinforcing steel.
• Set and erect forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems.
• Verify accuracy of structures using plumb bob, level, laser or transit.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Communicate with Foreman, Riding Boss, or Project Manager regarding issues, materials, or safety hazards.
• Ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• May assist with placement of concrete as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
