Job summary

Pye-Barker is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.

The role requires reading blueprints, preventive maintenance, accurate documentation, and professional communication with customers and teams. A high school diploma and 3+ years in fire and life safety are expected; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.

The Security Service Technician is responsible for independently performing service, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. The technician ensures systems operate properly, meets customer expectations, and supports compliance with applicable codes and standards.
