Job summary

I-5 Design Build is seeking a Traveling Site Carpenter to support commercial projects nationwide from base in Lacey, WA. This role operates on a four weeks on, one week off rotation, traveling between sites with a company vehicle and per diem.

You will perform general carpentry tasks, install materials, unload deliveries, and help keep fast-moving projects safe and progressing. Compensation ranges from $50 to $70 per hour, with overtime and benefits including lodging, meals/per diem, health

Qualifications

• Hands-on commercial construction trade experience.
• Skilled in areas like framing, drywall, finish carpentry, or related trades.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness to travel nationwide on a rotating schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Background check may be required.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the superintendent with daily field operations and changing project needs.
• Complete general commercial carpentry, installation, and on-site support tasks.
• Install FRP materials and assist with temporary walls and site protection.
• Unload, move, stage, and protect tools and construction materials.
• Operate common hand and power tools safely.
• Coordinate work with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades.
• Follow plans, instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Help resolve field issues and maintain project progress.
• Represent I-5 professionally in active commercial environments.
