Job summary

I-5 Design Build is seeking a Traveling Specialty Installer to assemble and install custom architectural features nationwide. This full-time role is based in Lacey, WA, with 100% travel to project sites.

You will read plans, use hand and power tools, and work on intricate installations with frequent project changes. A background in finish carpentry, millwork, or related trades is helpful. Lifting up to 50 pounds and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Skilled commercial trades experience in electrical installation, finish carpentry, millwork, fixture installation, or a related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble complex components from plans.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, lifts, and installation equipment.
• Ability to complete precise, detail-oriented work in fast-paced environments.
• Willingness to travel extensively and move between projects frequently.
• Ability to fly regularly and remain away from home for project assignments.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform installation work at heights, including from scissor lifts, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to understand measurements, installation details, and construction sequencing.
• Reliable communication, teamwork, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install custom-fabricated architectural and decorative features.
• Install specialty millwork, soffits, chandeliers, bar components, and related assemblies.
• Follow plans, layouts, installation details, and project-team instructions.
• Measure, align, fit, connect, and finish multiple prefabricated components.
• Install supports, suspension wires, and other non-electrical mounting components.
• Work from scissor lifts and in ceiling areas when required.
• Receive, stage, protect, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate installation sequencing with project teams and other trades.
• Identify fit or coordination concerns and communicate them promptly.
• Maintain clean, safe, and protected work areas.
• Assist with preassembly and trailer loading in Lacey when local and between projects.
