Job summary

EMERY SAPP & SONS is seeking a Traveling Bridge Laborer to support bridge and structural concrete construction projects. You will assist with general labor tasks, material handling, site preparation, carpenters, and forming, pouring, and cleanup activities.

The role requires comfort working outdoors in physically demanding conditions, staying safe on a busy jobsite, and collaborating with supervisors and crew to deliver quality structures across sites in Arkansas and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, heavy civil, bridge work, or related industry preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist bridge carpenters and operators with construction of bridge decks, walls, columns, caps, footings, and other structural components.
  • Perform general labor duties such as shoveling, raking, lifting, carrying materials, and jobsite cleanup.
  • Support the installation and removal of concrete forms and falsework.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other construction staff to ensure project success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description
