Job summary

emerysapp is seeking a Traveling Bridge Ironworker to join our bridge construction team on a bolt-up project. You will install reinforcing steel, erect structural steel, assist with forming systems, rigging, and general bridge operations on a multi-month travel assignment.

This out-of-state project requires travel for 12+ months. Candidates must have 3+ years of ironworker/structural steel experience, read plans, comply with OSHA safety, and work at height in varying weather.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ironworker/rodbuster/structural steel erector or bridge ironworker experience.
• Experience on bridge or heavy civil construction projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, place, and tie reinforcing steel for bridge decks and abutments.
• Assist with erection and installation of structural steel components.
• Read and interpret plans and layout information.
• Perform rigging and signaling during crane operations.
• Assist with forming systems, falsework, and concrete placement.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with foremen, superintendents, and other crew members.
• Inspect materials and workmanship for quality.
• Support welding, bolting, and securing structural components when qualified.
