Optiv Energy Inc. in North America seeks a Field Service Technician with BESS and solar experience to support construction and operations of renewable energy plants.

You will travel to client sites, install and service systems, perform commissioning, and troubleshoot to keep assets online. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, continuous learning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to satisfy customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Travel to client sites to oversee, install, and/or repair utility scale battery energy storage and solar systems.
• Cold / Hot Commissioning.
• Routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Tasks include: battery charge/discharge cycling; module swaps; firmware updates; energization/de-energization; LOTO; troubleshooting via schematics and wiring diagrams; retrofit campaigns.
• Train on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Document all service activities using our internal systems.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to support continuous improvement.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines to ensure a zero-incident workplace.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Optiv Energy Inc. is seeking motivated, positive, organized and technical Field Service Technicians with direct BESS and Solar experience to join our team. As a Field Service Technician in the Renewable Energy industry, you will play a pivotal role managing various scopes of work on renewable energy power plants during construction and operations. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the growth of our fast-growing company, while making a positive impact on the environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Travel to client sites to oversee, install, and/or repair utility scale battery energy storage and solar systems
• Cold / Hot Commissioning

REQUIREMENTS

• Technical Degree or equivalent field experience
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or a similar role.
• A positive and team focused mindset
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and/or energy systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to travel extensively to client sites
• Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and weekends, based on project needs.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
