Job summary

RMS Energy in the United States is seeking Welders with aluminum welding experience to support critical energy infrastructure projects across the U.S. This hands-on field role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of job sites, including power plants, hydroelectric dams, and large‑scale industrial facilities.

You will read drawings, rig and install bus duct equipment, perform upgrades, and operate testing gear while traveling up to 75%.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of aluminum welding experience (MIG required, TIG preferred).
  • Familiarity with medium and high voltage electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and field documentation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, including PPE and working at heights.
  • Experience with substation construction or electrical bus installation is preferred.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts, manlifts, and other field equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Weld aluminum components in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
  • Read and interpret construction, welding, and electrical drawings.
  • Rig, lift, align, and set electrical bus duct equipment per plans.
  • Demo, fit, and install new mechanical components as part of system upgrades.
  • Maintain tools and welding equipment in safe working condition.
  • Conduct safety checks and inspections; identify wear and deterioration.
  • Operate electrical testing equipment (Hi-Pot, Ductor, Megger).
  • Collaborate with field technicians, project teams, and other trades.
  • Complete daily job reports and timesheets.
  • Operate company vehicles per RMS Energy safety policies.
  • Follow PPE and safety protocols in noisy/electrical/high areas.
  • Take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
