Job summary

Alarm Technicians are needed to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm, intrusion/burglar, and access control systems on large commercial projects. Most work is daytime with regional travel of 2–4 weeks; travel accommodations are provided.

The role requires independent problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong safety practices. Ideal candidates will have proven installation and commissioning experience, the ability to read blueprints, and knowledge of NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing and maintaining commercial alarm systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA life-safety standards and code compliance.
• Licenses or approvals for low-voltage/alarm work where required.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm, intrusion, and access control systems on large commercial sites.
• Perform device installation, wiring, termination, and testing per project specs.
• Program, inspect, test, and commission systems for full functionality and code compliance.
• Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and service calls as needed.
• Travel to project locations and maintain safety standards and PPE.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Install cabling and hardware including panels, keypads, readers, and sensors.
• Complete testing and customer demonstrations for projects.
• Document work progress, inspections, and repairs accurately.
