Job summary

Manatal is seeking experienced Alarm Technicians to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm, intrusion, and access control systems on large commercial projects. The role emphasizes daytime hours with regional travel 2–4 weeks at a time, company vehicle during travel, hotel accommodations, and per diem.

Ideal candidates will install, troubleshoot, and service systems independently, reading blueprints and diagrams, with strong attention to detail and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm, intrusion/burglar, and access control systems in commercial environments.
• Experience with installation, servicing, and commissioning of fire alarm, intrusion, and access control platforms.
• State-required low-voltage, alarm, fire, or security licenses where applicable.
• Knowledge of NFPA regulations and life-safety standards.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm, intrusion/burglar, and access control systems across large commercial facilities and sites.
• Perform device installation, wiring, termination, and testing per project specs.
• Program, inspect, test, and commission systems for full functionality and code compliance.
• Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and service calls for customers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Pull, route, terminate, and label low-voltage cable (18/2, Cat5e/6).
• Install panels, keypads, access control hardware, locks, readers, and notification devices.
• Complete final testing, customer demonstrations, and inspections.
• Document service work and project progress accurately.
• Travel to project locations while maintaining safety standards.
