Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a small hospital ultrasound department in California. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, a CA license, BLS, ARDMS AB/OB/GYN and RDMS AB/OB, with BR/RVT preferred, and EPIC EMR experience.

The role involves OB/GYN, vascular, abdominal, renal/pelvic, small parts, NICU and portable exams, using GE equipment, with a 3x12 day shift and weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience.
• CA state license required; compact license accepted.
• BLS certification required; ARDMS AB/OB/GYN and RDMS AB/OB required.
• ARDMS BR and RVT preferred; trauma-level I hospital experience.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Must be able to scan across OB/GYN, abdomen, vascular, renal/pelvic and small parts.
• Portability to travel within CA and float between sister facilities may be needed.
• Ability to cover day and potential night shifts with weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a small ultrasound department with three rooms and one portable machine.
• Perform diverse exams: OB/GYN, vascular, abdominal, renal/pelvic, small parts, NICU and neonate.
• Support procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy/fna under ultrasound guidance.
• Maintain PACS workflow and GE equipment; ensure accurate documentation.
• Cover day shift 7:00 AM–7:30 PM with possible night shifts; weekends required.
• Float to sister facilities within the same state as needed.
