Job summary

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a travel/contract role in Illinois. The position offers 36 hours per week with a 3×12-hour schedule (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) and care to maintain sterile technique and efficient turnover in the operating room.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of surgical tech experience, a solid knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology, and an AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy & physiology and medical terminology.
• Strong problem-solving and perioperative teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of sterile technique.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology OR Certificate of Surgical Technology program completion.
• AHA BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist with basic surgical procedures
• Set up and turn over OR rooms
• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Assist with patient positioning and procedure setup
• Perform sterilization and disinfection of surgical instruments
• Maintain and clean equipment and report items needing repair
• Document sterilization loads according to policy
• Support and precept medical students, residents, and other students
• Follow patient safety, legal, and hospital policies
