Qualifications

• Two years minimum of total surgical tech experience
• One year minimum of experience within the last three years (specific jobs may require more)
• An active credential by the NBSTA or NCCT (CST, CSFA, or TS-C will be required depending on job)

Surgical techs are an integral part of a hospital's healthcare team, acting as a surgeon's right hand. They prepare surgical equipment, assist during surgeries, and help with patient care before, during, and after procedures. Responsibilities include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate reports, and providing respectful care to all patients, families, and staff.

To apply as a surgical technologist with Nomad, you must have an active certification from NBSTSA or NCCSA, or active first assistant certification from NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA. You need at least one year of experience as a General surgical tech or first assistant, with evidence of recent experience within the past three years. Non-certified applicants require at least 10 years of surgical tech experience, subject to facility acceptance. You must have graduated from an accredited program and score 80% or higher on Nomad's competency exams.
