Job summary

Franciscan Health Crown Point in Crown Point, IN is seeking Certified Surgical Technologists for travel assignments (PRN, part-time and full-time opportunities).

Travel CSTs will support perioperative services across regional Indiana locations, preparing patients, equipment, and the operating room, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons while ensuring sterile technique and patient safety. Up to 75% travel required; EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent surgical experience.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED; BLS certification; CST certification NBSTSA.

Responsibilities

• Arrange instrument trays, prepare sterile drapes and solutions, and assist the surgical team with caps, gowns, and gloves.
• Pass instruments to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• May assist with sponge, needle, and other supply counts in surgery.
• Operate suction, diagnostic, and sterilizing equipment and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, and routing calls as needed.

The Franciscan Travel Surgical Technologist performs various tasks supporting perioperative services. This position assists multiple disciplines of an operating room by preparing patients, equipment, and the environment for procedures. This position, also, provides technical assistance to surgeons by anticipating instruments during surgical procedures. The Traveler Surgical Technologist measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and other solutions.

WHAT WE NEED

• A team-oriented CST who is flexible, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care across assigned regional locations
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience
• Recent experience using EPIC preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year Surgery Preferred
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
