Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel Surgical Technologist for a demanding Open Heart OR assignment in Reston, Virginia. The role focuses on perioperative care, sterile technique, and precise equipment setup, supporting complex cardiovascular surgeries within a busy unit.

The position offers 40 hours weekly, day shift, with travel benefits and comprehensive health coverage. CNOR preferred; active RN licensure required; BLS certification and open heart experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• CNOR preferred; active BLS certification; valid RN licensure; located in or willing to commute to Reston.
• Experience with open heart procedures and cardiovascular surgical setups is preferred.
• Floating to main ORs may be required; familiarity with Nu equipment and staffing protocols is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced perioperative care for open heart procedures, with emphasis on teamwork and sterile technique.
• Set up equipment and assist in cardiovascular surgeries, including CABG, valve replacements, and related vascular procedures.
• Collaborate with OR team to ensure proactive planning, communication, and efficient patient flow; adhere to Meditech Expanse documentation.
