About the Role

The Traveling Superintendent will oversee all on‑site activities for ground‑up grocery and retail construction projects across multiple locations. This role is responsible for managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring quality installation from mobilization through final turnover.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations for ground‑up grocery and retail construction projects
• Coordinate daily activities with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors
• Manage site logistics, sequencing, and short‑term and long‑term schedules
• Enforce all safety plans and ensure compliance with company and client safety requirements
• Conduct daily site meetings and weekly coordination meetings
• Monitor quality of work and verify construction meets plans and specifications
• Track manpower, material deliveries, and subcontractor productivity
• Maintain daily reports, safety logs, and project documentation
• Resolve field conflicts and unforeseen site conditions efficiently
• Support inspections, punch list, commissioning, and final project closeout
• Represent the company professionally with owners, tenants, and inspectors on site

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on ground‑up retail construction projects
• Direct experience with grocery stores or large format retail projects
• Strong understanding of site logistics, scheduling, safety programs, and quality control
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and fast‑paced construction schedules
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability and willingness to travel for project assignments
