Responsibilities include evaluating and treating both pediatric and adult patients, performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies, and collaborating across units. Shift is days, Mon-Fri with one Saturday per month; ability to float within a 75+ mile radius.

Qualifications

  • Current CA SLP license required
  • CCC-SLP certification required
  • 2+ years of pediatric and adult dysphagia experience required
  • Acute care, children's hospital, pediatric rehab, and PICU experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred and must be noted in employment history
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Master’s degree in SLP preferred
  • Pediatric outpatient experience preferred
  • Academic medical center experience preferred
  • 2 professional references from most recent employer required

Responsibilities

  • Acute care hospital setting including SLP Pediatrics unit, PICU, and pediatric rehabilitation
  • Treats both adult and pediatric patient populations
  • Performs Modified Barium Swallow Studies for adult and pediatric patients
  • Manages Total Laryngectomee and Trach/Vent patients, including Speaking Valve use
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday with one Saturday per month
  • Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius
  • Conducts bedside swallow evaluations, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, and FEES
  • Manages dysphagia diet modifications, thickening agents, and oral motor treatment
  • Provides care for pediatric conditions including developmental delays, language disorders, TBI, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia
  • Provides care for adult conditions including dysphagia, laryngectomy, nervous system disorders, and TBI
  • Utilizes evaluation tools such as CELF, PLS-4, and Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale as applicable
  • Provides patient and family education as part of treatment planning
  • Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate as travelers
  • Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or affiliated sites must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to offer, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
