American Traveler seeks an outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years of experience and CA state license for an acute care facility. The role requires travel, outpaitent duties, and responsibilities across assessments, therapy, and discharge planning.

The position includes a day shift, weekend requirement, and potential float to sister facilities. Epic EMR and BLS are required; travel pay is offered with a housing allowance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of SLP experience required, outpatient experience specified.
• CA state SLP license required (pending license accepted); license required if applicable.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Knowledge of dysphagia management and evaluations.

Responsabilités

• Outpatient SLP duties within an acute care facility.
• Average daily census of ~10 patients.
• Day shift 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; 5 days a week with one weekend shift.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• May float to sister facilities near the contracted site.
• Perform assessments, evaluations, and discharge planning for outpatient cases.
• Document and provide concurrent therapy per plan of care.
• Conduct and interpret modified barium swallow studies; advise diet mods.
• Provide patient and family education on therapy goals and safety.
• Recognize and report signs of abuse.
• RTO limited to 7 days.
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays.
• First-time travelers not considered; long-term staff must wait 3 months to return as traveler.
• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate.
• Candidates must live within 50-mile radius for travel pay rate.
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year in last 3 years.

American Traveler seeks an outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years of experience and CA state license for an acute care facility.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of SLP experience required, with outpatient experience specifically required
• Valid California state SLP license required (pending license accepted); license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, and compensatory strategies
• Experience with Passy Muir valves, suctioning, thickening agents, and trach/vent patients preferred
• Knowledge of Western Aphasia Battery (WAB) preferred
• Experience treating CVA, TBI, dysarthria, dysphagia, fluency, and voice disorders
• Experience with hearing impairments and mental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders preferred
• Experience with ventilator dependent/assisted and tracheostomy patients preferred

Responsibilities

• Outpatient SLP setting within an acute care facility
• Average daily census of approximately 10 patients
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• One weekend shift required per week
• Epic EMR experience required
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Perform assessments, evaluations, reassessments, and discharge planning for outpatient SLP cases
• Document and provide concurrent therapy treatment per plan of care
• Conduct and interpret modified barium swallow studies and recommend diet modifications as needed
• Provide patient and family education on therapy goals and safety
• Recognize and report signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse
• Grey scrub color required
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
