Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13‑week travel assignment. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders; developing individualized treatment plans; coordinating with interdisciplinary teams; maintaining documentation; and ensuring quality in care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology
- Experience in Speech‑Language Pathology (New graduates welcome)
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Responsibilities
- Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population
- Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices
- Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while offering supportive counseling as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards, and addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech‑language therapy
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills

- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Requirements
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal and Technical Skills
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) displaying a positive attitude and professionalism
- Grip, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures or using department equipment
Mental and Sensory Requirements
- Manage frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently; handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively
