Job summary

Preferred Healthcare Staffing is seeking a traveling Speech Language Pathologist for an inpatient acute rehab assignment in Bakersfield, California. This 13-week travel role offers 40 hours per week across 8-hour shifts, with a focus on delivering quality speech therapy and rehabilitation services to patients.

The ideal candidate will have an active state licensure as an SLP, current BLS/CPR certification, and at least 6 months of SLP experience in the last five years.

Qualifications

• Active state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• 6 months of SLP experience within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Recognize indications and contraindications to treatment and modify programs.
• Instruct patient/family and adapt therapy techniques as needed.
• Document charting accurately and concisely.
• Follow ASHA guidelines for ethical and high-quality performance.
