Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across various clinical settings. The role emphasizes individualized therapy, progress monitoring, and caregiver education.

Candidates must have a Master's in SLP, active state license, CCC-SLP if applicable, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience; travel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of practice.
• CCC-SLP certification (ASHA) preferred/required as applicable.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Speech-Language Pathology experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent communication, clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapy for speech, language, voice, cognition, and communication disorders.
• Evaluate and treat dysphagia and swallowing difficulties.
• Recommend appropriate communication strategies, adaptive equipment, and assistive devices.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, communication strategies, and safe swallowing practices.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Adapt quickly to different facilities, workflows, and patient populations.
• Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and facility policies.
